(Correction to January Gov Delivery) Laura Rutherford served Walsh County as the Committee Advisor for the past three years. After completing her third year, she elected not to serve a fourth year. Welcome to Jill Trenda as she has accepted the Walsh County Committee advisory role.
Micheal Hodny was the sole candidate on the Walsh County Committee election ballot in December, representing Local Administrative Area - 1 (LAA-1). Mr. Hodny was re-elected to a 3-year term effective January 1, 2023. Craig Skorheim received write-in votes and will serve as the LAA-1 alternate to the County Committee.
Committee members Nicholas Osowski (LAA-3), Kevin Zikmund (LAA-2) and Micheal Hodny (LAA-1) will serve as regular members to the Walsh County FSA Committee for the 2023 calendar year.
Congratulations and Thank You to all of these individuals for their service to Walsh County.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) is currently making automatic Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 (CFAP 2) top-up payments to underserved farmers and ranchers. Payments will be based on the 2020 program certification on form CCC-860, Socially Disadvantaged, Limited Resource, Beginning and Veteran Farmer or Rancher Certification.
Producers who have not previously certified to their status for the 2020 program year have until Feb. 10, 2023 to submit form CCC-860 to be eligible for the additional payments. Contact your local USDA Service Center for more information.

Livestock producers that completed a 2022 notice of loss please finalize your LIP application by March 1, 2023.
If you wish to not proceed with your application, please call the office and let Kelsey or Casey know. If you are proceeding with your application please provide the necessary documentation before February 17, 2023 to ensure time to process your application for payment.

Year End Packets have been sent to all Farm Loan Borrowers required to submit their 2022 Actuals, Current Balance Sheet and 2023 Income and Expense Projections. Please provide this information to the FSA Farm Loan Department as soon as possible.
If you are planning to apply to FSA for 2023 loan assistance, we encourage you to submit your paperwork as soon as possible so that your loan request can be processed timely.
