NRCS Solicits Comments on Proposed Changes to Technical Note 430-SS-11, Acid Sulfate Soils in the Coastal and Subaqueous Environment
Action Required By: November 15, 2022
Revisions to TN 430-SS-11 include:
- Updating the “Purpose” section of the technical note
- Clarifying and defining the formation of acid sulfate soil materials in the “Acid Sulfate Soils” section
- Adding information on thin layer placement in the “Locations” section
- Updating the “Impacts” section to clarify impacts of potential and active acid sulfate soil materials
- Updating the “Impacts” section to remove incorrectly referenced materials
- Adding hyposulfidic materials terminology and definition in the “Identification” section
- Adding instructions on testing for sulfides in soil materials in the “Identification” section
