Nowata/Washington County Updates  - September 01, 2022

Stop

The county office is aware of the difficulties you have been facing and the drought conditions that continue in our area. Our county has a D3 Drought Designation which triggers the Livestock Forage Program (LFP) for pasture losses. We put out a LFP survey to be completed. If you completed the survey, please wait until you are emailed, texted, or called. Be sure to check your emails, we may have already contacted you and if not, we will once we get to you on the survey list. We are spending most of our hours answering the questions below on the phone or in person. It is defiantly slowing our progress to getting to you on the survey.

-With these questions did you get my online survey? Yes, if you click submit and saw a Thank You! We have your survey!

-I completed my survey weeks ago, and I haven’t heard anything back? We are working down the list as we received them so it may take a while.  Please be patient!!!

-Can you check to see if you have my survey? If you saw a "Thank You" after you click submit we have your survey. We are wasting too much time confirming you completed your survey!

-I want to know if you got my leases? Once we get to you on the survey we will be in contact by email or text unless you don’t have an email about your leases.

-Can you send me the text and email my neighbor or friend got from you all? You all can help us out by forwarding the 2022 LFP Survey link by email or text to your friends, family, and neighbors and they can complete the survey that way!

Due to the high volume of calls we receive for this program; please understand we are working down the list in order as received. We have more than 500 surveys. By calling us it slows down the process, we will call you once we get to your name on the survey list. This will assist tremendously on getting to you and completing your application in a timely manner.

When it is time for your email or text, here are a few tips that will make it go smoothly. Having your leases and deeds together for when we do contact you. If you do not have a written lease, you can google the form CCC-855 forms. The form is also available at our office.

Please mark your calendars so you do not miss any of these important date:

  • September 30, 2022 – Final date to purchase NAP Coverage for Apples, Apricots, Barley – grain, Blackberries, Grapes, Blueberries, Greens, Nectarines, Oats – grain, Peaches, pears, Raspberries, Rye – grain, Triticale – grain and Vetch.

Best Regards!

Supervised Credit from FSA

Farm Service Agency (FSA) farm loans are considered supervised credit. Unlike loans from a commercial lender, FSA loans are intended to be temporary in nature. Our goal is to help you graduate to commercial credit, and our farm loan staff is available to help borrowers through training and credit counseling.

The FSA team will help borrowers identify their goals to ensure financial success. FSA staff will advise borrowers on developing strategies and a plan to meet your goals and graduate to commercial credit. FSA borrowers are responsible for the success of their farming operation, but FSA staff will help in an advisory role, providing the tools necessary to help you achieve your operational goals and manage your finances.

For more information on FSA farm loan programs, contact your Nowata County USDA Service Center at 918-273-3074 or visit fsa.usda.gov.
