2022 Crop Certification Deadline is quickly approaching! If you haven't reported your planted acres, please contact the Lincoln County FSA Office at 605-987-4332 ext 2 to schedule an appointment. We appreciate your cooperation during this busy season.
The deadline to complete 2022 acreage reports for corn, soybeans, CRP, and other spring seeded crops is July 15, 2022. Producers are encouraged to fill out their maps and bring them to their scheduled appointment, to save time during the office visit.
Producers who carry crop insurance should be aware that they must file an acreage report with both FSA and their Crop Insurance Agent. Crop Insurance reporting deadlines for planted, prevented planted and failed acres may be different than FSA deadlines. In order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements, all producers are encouraged to file an accurate crop certification report as soon as possible.
CCC-576, Notice of Loss, is used to report failed acreage and prevented planting. Timely filing a Notice of Loss is required for all crops including grasses. For losses on crops covered by the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP), you must file a CCC-576, Notice of Loss, in the FSA County Office within 15 days of the occurrence of the disaster or when losses become apparent or 15 calendar days after the normal harvest date.

Nominations Open for the 2022 County Committee Elections
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) encourages all farmers, ranchers, and FSA program participants to take part in the Lincoln County Committee election nomination process.
FSA's county committees are a critical component of the day-to-day operations of FSA and allow grassroots input and local administration of federal farm programs.
Committees are comprised of locally elected agricultural producers responsible for the fair and equitable administration of FSA farm programs in their counties. Committee members are accountable to the Secretary of Agriculture. If elected, members become part of a local decision making and farm program delivery process.
A county committee is composed of three to 11 elected members from local administrative areas (LAA). Each member serves a three-year term. This year, Lincoln County is accepting nominations for LAA#3, which includes the following townships: Springdale Dayton Canton Highland Fairview
All nomination forms for the 2022 election must be postmarked or received in the local USDA Service Center by August 1, 2022. For more information on FSA county committee elections and appointments, refer to the FSA fact sheet: Eligibility to Vote and Hold Office as a COC Member available online at: fsa.usda.gov/elections.
