Producers who hauled water to grazing livestock may be eligible for 7 cents per gallon in assistance. You now can certify to the quantity but be prepared to have documentation if asked.
If you had to haul feed to grazing animals, or to stock up for the upcoming winter, in excess to what you would normally do, you may be reimbursed for some of the cost. The first 25 miles isn't covered. $6.60 per loaded mile

The Livestock Forage Program (LFP) pays eligible livestock producers on grazing losses for qualifying drought conditions. Contact Morgan if you are interested in applying. morgan.barton@usda.gov

The Farm Loan team in Dickey/LaMoure County is already working on operating loans for spring 2022 and asks potential borrowers to submit their requests early so they can be timely processed. The farm loan team can help determine which loan programs are best for applicants.
Farm operating and farm ownership loans can help large and small farm operations take advantage of early purchasing discounts for spring inputs as well expenses throughout the year.
Microloans are a simplified loan program that will provide up to $50,000
Farm Storage Facility Loans can be used to build permanent structures used to store eligible commodities, for storage and handling trucks, or portable or permanent handling equipment.

This is the time of year that storms kill livestock. The LIP program helps with these losses but you must be prepared. Keep good records of what you have on hand and of what you lost. And if you have a significant loss, ask someone who is not a close relative or employee, like a neighbor, Vet, or even your banker, to witness and vouch for your loss. Pictures help also. I know its not something you like to advertise but it helps simplify the application process.
