Until we can get the technical issues resolved with the links in the GovDelivery notices, you may go directly to the NRCS Soils web site at https://soils.usda.gov/ and click on the Soil Survey tab, then click on Soil Classification. Once on the Soil Classification web page, click on the "Soil Taxonomy Forum" located in the center of the page under the "Soil Taxonomy" section.

The Soil Taxonomy Forum (https://soiltxnmyforum.cals.vt.edu/forum/list.php?3) has moved to a new server.
The Soil Taxonomy Forum is hosted by Virginia Tech University and has been the go-to place for Q&A and discussion about soil taxonomy since 1998. There are over 547 topics and 1,512 posts from over 10,500 users. The forum encourages free and open discussion of topics related to soil classification, soil description, diagnostic soil properties, taxonomic classes, and ideas to improve the utility and completeness of Soil Taxonomy. You can read posts on the forum without registering but you need to register in order to post. Posts are reviewed by a moderator prior to becoming public.
