Join MyPlate in celebrating our favorite topic — NUTRITION!
National Nutrition Month® offers an opportunity to spotlight healthy eating and physical activity at school, work, home, and throughout the community. This week we’ll be sharing resources for use in schools. Learn how to inspire students of all ages, from preschool to college, to eat healthy and be active every day.
Kick off the month with the following school resources:
1. Introduce new fruits and vegetables to preschoolers with Grow It, Try It, Like It!, a gardening-themed nutrition education kit.
2. Get a taste of Serving Up MyPlate, a yummy curriculum for elementary students which presents healthy eating messages through a variety of hands-on activities.
3. Make healthy eating and physical activity fun with MyPlate Kids’ Place games, activities, and songs. Take the MyPlate Champions pledge and join over 29,000 kids in their commitment to eat healthy and be active everyday!
4. Teach high school students to think critically about their food and physical activity choices by using the interactive tool, SuperTracker.
5. Encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyles they can maintain during and beyond their college years with MyPlate On Campus.
