Happening Now: The Committee’s
Draft Advisory Report Meeting via Webcast

The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is holding its Draft Advisory Report Meeting today from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM EDT via webcast. Join the webcast to watch live. The meeting will include discussion on the Committee’s draft conclusion statements posted online, and Committee deliberations and decisions regarding their draft advisory report.

Note: The Committee’s draft advisory report is not a “draft” of the next edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

The Committee will finalize their advisory report based on Committee discussion at the meeting. They will then submit their final report to the Secretaries of USDA and HHS. USDA and HHS will post the final report online, send out a public notification, and open a new public comment period for the Departments to accept comments on the Committee’s report. This action is expected on or around July 15, 2020.

USDA and HHS will consider the Committee’s report, along with public and agency comments, as the Departments develop the next edition of the Dietary Guidelines for release by the end of this year.
