Interested in learning about the latest developments in food safety? Be sure to access the Meet the Experts resources at the National Agricultural Library (NAL), Food Safety Research Information Office (FSRIO). Scroll down to watch a series of short, 3-minute “Meet the Experts” videos to learn about the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) research on food safety topics such as cold plasma. Cold plasma is a post-harvest process that is used to mitigate bacterial pathogens through a sanitary spraying method that is highly effective and safe. In addition, you can find other informational videos about the ARS Salmonella Grand Challenge and data analytics, Vibriosis and climate change, and other novel topics. Narration and captioning are provided in the videos and can be found on each of the National Agricultural Libraries' food safety topic web pages.

The FSRIO’s digital resources help you stay informed about trends in microbiological research and funded projects about bacterial pathogens and viruses through its Food Safety Research Projects Database application. This resource contains monthly updates about projects funded by national and international food science organizations. Explore projects by date, title, funding category, and/or topics such as produce safety, natural toxins, and more.

To learn more, stop by exhibit booth #246 at the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting or attend the marketplace presentation on Tuesday, July 16 at 1:30 pm PST.
