The Republic of Taiwan has requested of the United States (U.S.) to allow market access into the U.S. and its territories of Dendrobium spp. (Orchidaceae) plants in U.S. approved growing media.

The USDA APHIS Center of Plant Health Science and Technology has drafted a risk assessment document to examine the plant pest risks associated with importing commercially produced plants of Dendrobium orchids from Taiwan. This draft document is available for 30 days for stakeholders to review and provide comments. Comments are due November 28, 2013.

You can view the draft document and the instructions for submitting comments on the APHIS plant import web page at this link http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/plants/plant_imports/process/stakeholder_consultation.shtml
