APHIS Veterinary Services (VS) has submitted comments on behalf of the United States to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) regarding new and modified OIE chapters. Comments submitted regarding the Terrestrial and Aquatic Animal Health Codes can be found at the following links:

Terrestrial animals
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/oie/terrestrial.shtml

Aquatic animals
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/oie/aquatic.shtml .

The information on these Web sites is organized in three vertical columns:

  • Column 1: Terrestrial and Aquatic chapters, respectively, that were distributed for comment in September 2012
  • Column 2: Comments submitted by the U.S. to the OIE which were derived from stakeholder input.
  • Column 3: [Comments Proposed for Adoption during the General Session May 2013].

Once the OIE Commissions meet this month (February 2013) to discuss comments submitted from all Member countries, the OIE will then distribute the chapters proposed for adoption at the 81st General Session meeting in May 2013.

VS will post these chapters thereafter and will inform our stakeholders through the APHIS Stakeholder Registry once they become available.
