USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service sent this bulletin at 08/28/2023 11:56 AM EDTNOTICE OF AVAILABILITY – VIRGINIA: Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), has issued a Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for a Supplement to the Environmental Assessment (EA), “Managing Damage to Resources and Threats to Human Health and Safety Caused by Mammals in the Commonwealth of Virginia” which evaluated potential impacts to the quality of the human environment from the implementation of a mammal damage management program. WS issued a Decision/FONSI on August 22, 2023 selecting to implement the proposed action alternative which is an integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce mammal damage to agriculture, property, natural resources, and human health and safety. WS concluded that implementation of the proposed action alternative would not have a significant impact upon the quality of the human environment based on the analyses contained in the EA, Supplement, and the associated Decision/FONSI.
