PPQ 586 Transit Permit Application Now Available in APHIS eFile!

Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is excited to announce that you can now apply for the PPQ 586 Transit permit application in APHIS eFile!

If it’s your first-time accessing APHIS eFile, you will need to set up your account. Refer to our Account Registration help video for information on how to get set up. - In the Ready to Apply drop-down, choose your application, and click Get Started.

Important information for the 586 Transit permit application:
- Effective today, PPQ will no longer renew or issue new Transit permits through ePermits.
- No ePermits data will be moved into APHIS eFile. You will need to submit a new application in APHIS eFile.
- All active Transit permits issued through ePermits will remain valid, and eligible for amendment, until permit expiration.
- The application form number will remain the same in ePermits and APHIS eFile, but the application and permit system reference numbers will be different. The table below shows how the application and permit numbers appear in both ePermits and APHIS eFile.

APHIS eFile amendments and renewals have an “A” and “R” added to the end of the permit number, A1 = amendment 1, A2 = amendment 2, etc. and R1 = renewal 1, R2 = renewal 2, etc. (e.g., 586-22-00123A1).
