The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has revised requirements for importing sand pear (Pyrus pyrifolia var. culta) fruit into the United States from the Republic of Korea. This change is effective September 27, 2022 (Docket No. APHIS-2020-0063).

The above change impacts:

In addition and unrelated to the above-mentioned change, APHIS has authorized importing fresh turmeric (Curcuma longa) rhizome from Samoa into the United States (including territories). APHIS has determined that applying one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing or disseminating plant pests or noxious weeds via the importation of fresh turmeric rhizome from Samoa.
