Subject: PPQ 546 & PPQ 585 Applications Now Available in APHIS eFile!

Dear Applicants,

Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is excited to announce you can now apply for Postentry Quarantine & Timber permits in APHIS eFile!

Effective today, PPQ will no longer issue new or renew existing Postentry Quarantine permits through ePermits. You will need to submit a new application using APHIS eFile. All active Postentry Quarantine and Timber permits issued through ePermits will remain valid until permit expiration.

What's new for the 546 Postentry Quarantine application?

• In APHIS eFile you will not be able to amend your Postentry Quarantine permits. If you require an amendment, you can send an amendment request to plantsforplantingpermits@usda.gov
• If you are growing your Postentry Quarantine articles in more than one state, you must apply for a permit for each state.
• The Application Form Number will remain the same in ePermits and APHIS eFile, but the Application and Permit System Reference Numbers will be different. The table below shows how the application and permit numbers appear in both ePermits and APHIS eFile.

What’s new for the 585 Timber application?

• The new application is a simple and easy way to apply for and receive your Timber permits. With APHIS eFile, you may be able to get your permits the same day you apply!
• The Application Form Number will remain the same in ePermits and APHIS eFile, but the Application and Permit System Reference Numbers will be different. The table below shows how the application and permit numbers appear in both ePermits and APHIS eFile.

Go to APHIS eFile at efile.aphis.usda.gov/s/. In the Ready to Apply section, select the PPQ 546 or 585 application to start your application. For additional support, refer to our user guides and YouTube videos.
