The Government of Chile has asked USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to authorize the importation of table Grapes (Vitis vinifera) into the United States and Territories. APHIS has drafted a Pest Risk Assessment (PRA) that describes potential pests associated with the commodity, and a Commodity Import Evaluation Document (CIED) that describes a systems approach that would mitigate the pest risk for the commodity.

APHIS is sharing the draft PRA and CIED to determine whether stakeholders have information that might lead us to revise the draft documents before we identify pest mitigations and proceed with the commodity import approval process.

The draft PRA and CIED for table grapes will be available for review and comment until March 29, 2022. To view the documents or submit comments, go to: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/plant-health/risk-assessment-consultation
