Issuance Date: November 10, 2020
Effective Date: November 3, 2020
Effective November 3, 2020, and until further notice, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Veterinary Services (VS) is restricting the importation of poultry, commercial birds, ratites, avian hatching eggs, unprocessed avian products and byproducts, and certain fresh poultry products from the affected zones in the United Kingdom (UK) as determined by the establishment of their zoning. This process is in accordance with the UK previously being a Member State of the European Union (EU), the European Union Poultry Trade Region, and the UK currently continuing to follow the EU regulations. Negotiations continue regarding future classification of the UK post-exiting the EU and regulations will be accordingly updated following those discussions. Additional information regarding disease status may be found at the APHIS website.
