Register Today for a Free Webinar on October 5 – Controlling Salmonella in Commercial Poultry through Biosecurity

 

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is hosting a free webinar called “Defend the Flock: Controlling Salmonella in Commercial Poultry through Biosecurity” on Monday, October 5, 2020 from 2:30-3:30PM EDT. The webinar will provide pro tips from USDA APHIS vets and other poultry industry experts on how to control Salmonella in commercial flocks. Register today at www.bit.ly/USDAWebinar.

 

Webinar speakers include:

  • Dr. Charles Hofacre, President of Southern Poultry Research Group. In his career, Dr. Hofacre held a variety of positions in the poultry industry and taught at University of Georgia for 19 years. He also served as the Executive Vice President of the poultry veterinary organization, the American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP).
  • Dr. Katy Burden, Veterinary Medical Officer with the National Poultry Improvement Plan, APHIS Dr. Burden worked for USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service and the Georgia Poultry Laboratory before coming to APHIS earlier this year.
  • Dr. Taylor Gaines, Staff Veterinarian with the Poultry Health Team, APHIS Dr. Gaines has been with USDA since 2016, working in several import/export positions before joining the poultry health team earlier this year.
