Dear BRS Stakeholder,

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) will include an afternoon preview of the agency’s new APHIS eFile permitting system at its upcoming Nov. 7 Stakeholder Meeting. BRS will implement the new system in 2019 and will be among the first USDA/APHIS programs to do so. Eventually APHIS eFile will replace the current ePermit system throughout APHIS.

The BRS Stakeholder Meeting is held annually to foster transparency and engagement in the BRS program. Please register to join us on Nov. 7 as we reflect on the past year and look forward to FY 2019; discuss implementation of business process improvements; look at plant breeding innovation from an international perspective; review biotechnology research, education, and outreach; and present a “sneak preview” of APHIS eFile.

In our afternoon session (1:30-3:30 pm) eFile will be demonstrated and discussed, with plans for the timing of the transition and ample time for questions.

The meeting will be held Nov. 7 at the USDA Center at Riverside, 4700 River Road, Riverdale, MD 20737, and is also available by webinar.
