Dear BRS Stakeholder,

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services’ (BRS) Biotechnology Quality Management Support (BQMS) program is hosting a webinar on monitoring for volunteers as part of its “Building Upward” webinar series on Thursday, September 20, 2018, 1:00PM-3:00PM (Eastern Time). The webinar will provide details and supporting examples on the relationship between volunteer monitoring activities and compliance with APHIS’ biotechnology regulations.

The BQMS program is a voluntary compliance assistance program that provides support to the regulated community in building upon quality management principles to facilitate compliance with APHIS’ biotechnology regulations. With continued engagement and outreach, BQMS provides compliance assistance information and education that is flexible and adaptable to our stakeholders needs. This webinar will present a brief overview of the BQMS Program and will concentrate on the fundamentals of monitoring for volunteers.

Developers and researchers who are conducting activities under our biotechnology regulations, 7 CFR part 340, are encouraged to participate. Registration is free for this event.
