IMMEDIATE UPDATE: FAVIR Database and Fruits and Vegetables Manual 4/30/2018--124
USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service sent this bulletin at 04/30/2018 09:08 AM EDTThis notice is to alert you to changes in the FAVIR Database and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual.
The changes are a result of a rule change in the Code of Federal Regulations (Docket No. APHIS-2015-0015) regarding fresh cherimoya from Chile. Fresh cherimoya from Chile may be imported into the United States under one of the following two options: 1) an APHIS-approved systems approach as stated on the phytosanitary certificate; or 2) with soapy water and wax treatment (T102-b), as specified in the official documentation. The rule is effective April 30, 2018.
The specific FAVIR Database and Fruits and Vegetables Manual changes are listed below.
FAVIR Database: Cherimoya (fruit) from Chile into Ports as Specified in the Import Requirements changes commodity import requirements page (CIR) has been completely revised
Fruits and Vegetables Manual: Table 3-52 Chile changes language has revised in footnote #10 of the table
