Today, we have created an online repository of all 175 of the Federal Register notices involving the Animal Welfare Act and the Horse Protection Act. We hope this new educational resource will build a deeper understanding of the regulatory history and processes involved with these two federal laws that we administer and enforce.

The archive is located here. (On that webpage, please scroll down to the Federal Register Notices section.)

As the official journal of the federal government, the Federal Register is the way regulatory agencies announce various matters of importance – including public notices, newly proposed regulations and changes to existing regulations.

One sure way to stay abreast of all our notices and proposals is to join our agency’s official stakeholder registry. By doing so, you will receive our announcements via email or text message. It is free to register, and you can choose the specific issues that most interest you. You can register here.

At USDA Animal Care, ensuring the welfare of the animals we regulate is at the heart of everything we do.
