USDA Posts Additional Annual Reports of Research Facilities

 

Today, we are posting the 2010-2013 annual reports of research facilities regulated under the Animal Welfare Act. These reports are part of our comprehensive review of the documents we removed from our website in early February, and they are in the same redacted form as before. With this posting, you now have access to annual reports from 2000 to 2015.

 

To conduct the review, we took the USDA Animal Care Search Tool (the agency’s searchable database) off line. As announced on Feb. 7, 2017, we will continue to review records and determine which information is appropriate for reposting.

 

Each USDA-registered research facility is required by the Animal Welfare Act to submit an annual report that documents its use of regulated animals for research, testing, teaching and/or experimentation.

 

We remain committed to ensuring the welfare of the animals we regulate. Please know that we continue to carry out the critical, day-to-day work of ensuring the humane treatment of these vulnerable animals by conducting unannounced inspections, pre-compliance visits, horse protection inspections and other activities.
