USDA APHIS' Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) invites you to join us on Thursday, January 26th at 2:00 p.m. ET for a conference call on the recently published Proposed Rule for Importation, Interstate Movement, and Environmental Release of Certain Genetically Engineered Organisms, which is a revision of its regulations 7 CFR part 340. BRS will outline the proposed rule, highlighting how it is different from the current rule, and answer clarifying questions. This is not a meeting to receive public comments, but rather an information session to help likely commenters understand the proposed rule as they begin to think about what their comments will be.  To participate in this call, stakeholders should register at https://www.regonline.com/340infosession.

BRS will also hold three public comment meetings to receive comments on the proposed rule, with dates and locations to be announced soon. APHIS published the proposed rule on January 19, 2017, and is accepting public comments through May 19, 2017. Public comments can be made on regulations.gov or in any of the three public comment meetings.
