We will be shutting down the USDA Animal Care Search Tool for 11 days, beginning Friday, August 12 and resuming functionality Tuesday, August 23. We apologize for this inconvenience, but it is a necessary step as we upgrade to a new operating system and bolster our technology infrastructure to better prepare for cybersecurity threats.

On August 23, you will see a new Search Tool that is more user-friendly and easily understandable. Our goal was to create a fully functional system that will once again provide you with free, on-demand access to accurate, searchable, exportable data regarding individuals and facilities regulated under the Animal Welfare Act. There is always a learning curve with new data systems, so we ask for your patience as you become accustomed to the new version.

The Search Tool has been a valuable resource for thousands of people since its creation in 2011. We know there have been occasions when the Search Tool has not met your expectations in terms of functionality. Thank you for your understanding as we did our best to maintain the current system while also developing the new one.

If you need assistance once we’ve unveiled the new Search Tool, please contact Dave Sacks in our headquarters office: david.sacks@aphis.usda.gov; (301) 851-3749.

At USDA Animal Care, ensuring the welfare of the animals we regulate is at the heart of everything we do.
