Dear BRS Stakeholder,

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Service (BRS) is announcing that effective today, APHIS BRS will replace its Notice of Compliance with Comments with a Notice of Finding. Notification and permit holders that plant certain genetically engineered organisms will receive this Notice of Finding when there are findings of concern that could lead to non-compliance but a violation of BRS regulations under 7 CFR part 340 has not been identified. This letter may also be used for other purposes, such as communicating information to a responsible party following a compliance enquiry.

For more information or questions please contact a BRS employee at the Compliance Hotline at 301-851-3935 or via email at BRSCompliance@aphis.usda.gov.
