USDA Animal Care has posted a new introductory course for dealers of guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits to provide helpful information about licensing and regulatory requirements under the Animal Welfare Act.

The course, which we developed with the Center for Food Security and Public Health, describes the pre-licensing process for would-be USDA licensees, and it also offers best practices for animal care and husbandry to help current licensees successfully adhere to Animal Welfare Act standards and regulations.

The course, which is available to all interested parties, is available here.

At USDA Animal Care, ensuring the welfare of the animals we regulate is at the heart of everything we do.
