Organic Integrity Learning Center: New Microlearning
Overview of the USDA Organic Certificate
The National Organic Program (NOP) is the regulatory program that oversees organic agriculture and, along with USDA-accredited certifying agents (certifiers), enforces the organic regulations. Certifiers must generate certificates of organic operation (referred to as organic certificates) from the USDA’s Organic INTEGRITY Database (INTEGRITY or OID) for all certified farms and businesses.
The USDA Organic Integrity Learning Center provides free, on demand, online training to support the professional development and continuing education of people working to protect organic integrity. The National Organic Program (NOP) recently published a new Overview of the USDA Organic Certificate microlearning.
This microlearning addresses the elements of the organic certificate and helps organic certifiers, inspectors, operators, handlers, and other organic stakeholders to understand why it is important to examine organic certificates. This microlearning will help you determine an operation’s certification status and understand the products and practices that are certified. Familiarity with the certificate’s details is important for maintaining compliance and supporting integrity in organic supply chains.
Access the Overview of the USDA Organic Certificate microlearning from within the NOP-997: National Organic Program Microlearning course.
