USDA Shares 2023 Peer Review Report and NOP Response
The National Organic Program (NOP) has published the 2023 annual peer review report and our response.
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, NOP implements an annual peer review to evaluate the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s accreditation program. The annual review helps strengthen NOP’s organic accreditation, oversight, and enforcement program.
An independent third party conducts the review following the process described in the Organic Foods Production Act and NOP Handbook document, NOP 1031 Peer Review of National Organic Program Accreditation.
The annual peer review report includes observations and positive feedback about several areas of program operations.
RMA Offers New Resource for Specialty and Small-Scale Farmers
Finding the right risk management fit for your farm can feel overwhelming, especially for specialty crop and small-scale farmers and ranchers. That’s why the USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) created a new searchable directory of crop insurance agents who have experience selling Whole-Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) and Micro Farm policies.
