Specialty Crops Program

Market Development Division

Hemp Branch Chief/Supervisory Agricultural Marketing Specialist (Agreements & Orders)

Do you have a passion for team building? Are you eager to lead a talented group of specialists?  Consider joining our Market Development Division (MDD) as Hemp Branch Chief/Supervisory Agricultural Marketing Specialist (Agreements & Orders).

The MDD Hemp Branch administers the Domestic Hemp Production Program (DHPP) to regulate hemp production in the United States, territories and tribal nations.  Primary responsibilities involve policy interpretation and licensing enforcement and approval for hemp production plans produced by States and Tribal Nations. The Branch is also responsible for issuing licenses and renewing licenses to individuals desiring to produce hemp directly under the DHPP because a State or Tribal Nation plan does not cover where the individual intends to grow hemp.

You will serve as the Hemp Branch Chief of the Washington, D.C. office within the Market Development Division and will be responsible for maintaining the Branch's expertise in hemp production and coordinating projects involving Division employees.

If you are interested, Apply Here for additional information and guidance.  The vacancy closes on February 23, 2024.

Information about the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program is available on AMS’s Hemp Production | Agricultural Marketing Service (usda.gov) webpage or by contacting the Market Development Division at (202) 720-8085.
