Happy November!
Both USDA and AMS continue to give generously to the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) charities! USDA employees, nationally, have seen an estimated $60,000 increase in donations in the last week. As a result, AMS has more than doubled contributions over the last week! USDA now has a combined $262,407.58 in financial and volunteer hours donated.
Last week, we reported the donations from AMS Headquarters, Packers & Stockyards Western Region Office, and the Southeast Marketing Field Office. This week, a shout out goes to the Commodity Procurement Program (CPP) for tripling their donations with a bump from the CPP Headquarters Office. This increase doubled our Agency’s donations. Thank you CPP for their efforts!
More CFC Opportunities:
Department of Energy (DOE) & USDA Chili Cook-Off Nov 16
We have an AMS chef who will participate in the DOE/USDA Chili Cook-Off. Who else will join Brett Offutt, Fair Trade Practices Program, Packers & Stockyards Division for the Cook-Off? I know there are many great chefs in AMS, so I encourage them to stand with Brett and have some fun for a great cause. Please send me your name and contact information no later than Nov 7, for entry. The final coordinating instructions will be sent before the event.
Do you have great chili-making skills or do you just love to eat great chili? Please consider signing up to compete with your best chili on Nov. 16, or just coming to eat great chili at this combined CFC event. Please send your name, email, phone number and indication of attending only or attending & bringing chili to Rebecca Jaworski at Rebecca.jaworski@usda.gov. More information coming soon.
Giving Tuesday November 29 & International Volunteer Day December 5
Giving Tuesday Day (November 29) is one of the largest contribution days of the year, it’s also one of the happiest time of year with so many wonderful opportunities for celebration across our diverse federal workforce. Similarly, for those able, volunteering time is as valuable as a financial contribution. Please consider joining others for contribution and collaboration on December 5.
