Reminder: GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GS1 GDSN) Reporting for the USDA Foods Program
The compliance date is approaching for Phase 1 of the new GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GS1 GDSN) requirement for the USDA Foods Program. Under the new requirement, USDA Foods suppliers must report product information to GS1 GDSN for select items purchased for the National School Lunch Program. AMS is implementing the new GS1 GDSN requirement in two phases:
- During Phase 1 of implementation, vendors that are awarded contracts between September 1 – December 31, 2021 must report product information to GS1 GDSN by December 31, 2021 if the contract includes item(s) on the List of Required Products for GS1 GDSN Reporting.
- During Phase 2 of implementation, vendors that are awarded a contract after December 31, 2021 must report product information within 20 days after contract award if the contract includes item(s) on the List of Required Products for GS1 GDSN Reporting.
