Fraudulent certificates, settlement summaries, administrator decisions, administrative law judge decisions and judicial officer decisions are posted as soon as they can be made public on our website. Access these individual enforcement actions on our Organic Enforcement web page.

We are committed to providing information to the organic community in a way that is useful and supports robust enforcement of the regulations worldwide. We are continually looking for ways to improve our reporting tools, and in response to feedback on the dashboard published last quarter, we have made a few changes to this quarter's report. Feedback on the new format is welcomed. Send comments to Sonya.Backus@usda.gov.

2020 Sunset Review Notice

On May 7, 2020, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) published a Federal Register Notice announcing the outcome of the National Organic Standards Board's (NOSB) 2020 Sunset Review of substances. This notice identifies which substances on the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances (National List) are renewed effective on June 22, 2020.

Sunset Review requires the NOSB to review the eligibility of a substance to remain on the National List every five years. A renewal means substances keep their current status as being allowed or prohibited in organic production and handling. The new sunset date for the substances renewed in this notice is June 22, 2025.

For a list of the substance exemptions being renewed, view the Federal Register Notice.
