The NOP annual peer review process reflects NOP’s commitment to continuous improvement. The peer review evaluates the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) organic accreditation program, and is conducted based on the Handbook document, Peer Review of National Organic Program Accreditation.
Independent external auditors determine if the NOP has followed its quality management procedures. The auditors compile results of the review and submit them in a report to the NOP. NOP develops action items that respond to peer review feedback.
