Announcement
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is accepting applications for local street performers or buskers — including musicians, jugglers, magicians, puppeteers and others to perform at the 2019 USDA Farmers Market.
The USDA Farmers Market takes place every Friday, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m., May 3 through October 25. Buskers perform when the market is at peak attendance, typically from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The market is located outside USDA Headquarters on the corner of Independence Avenue and 12th St, S.W., in Washington, D.C., alongside the National Mall.
There is no fee to perform and buskers do not receive compensation from USDA, but may accept tips. They may sell CDs, tapes or promotional t-shirts related to the performance if a copy of all licenses/permits applicable to the sale of these products is provided and approved in advance.
Find the full list of requirements in the USDA Farmers Market 2019 Rules and Procedures and Operating Guidelines or contact Lee Cliburn at lee.cliburn@ams.usda.gov or (202) 281-6349.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. All performance dates are first come, first served and must be confirmed by Monday prior to that week’s market.
