Dear CNCS Grantees,

On December 19, 2014, the Office of Management and Budget (together with Federal awarding agencies including CNCS) issued a joint interim final rule to implement the guidance at 2 CFR 200, titled Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards ("Uniform Guidance").

The guidance, which was originally published December 26, 2013 (available at 78 FR 78589), simultaneously improves performance, transparency, and oversight for Federal awards.

The Uniform Guidance will apply to awards made by CNCS in FY 2015. As recipients of Federal awards from CNCS, you are responsible for reading and understanding the Uniform Guidance in order to meet your obligations as a recipient.

Many resources to help you in understanding the Uniform Guidance, including the COFAR Training Webcast Series and Resources for Understanding the Uniform Guidance, are available at cfo.gov/cofar.

We will communicate more on this topic in January.

Best Wishes for a Safe and Happy New Year,

The Corporation for National and Community Service
