Dear National Service Family,
This week, we concluded National Disability Employment Awareness month with the story of CNCS’ disability and inclusion advisor. We also welcomed a new social media launch for one of our programs and highlighted the work of Senior Corps RSVP volunteers in Ohio.
So, grab another handful of Halloween candy and scroll down for your weekly dose of national service-driven inspiration.
Have a terrific weekend!

Supporting Inclusion: As part of National Disability
Employment Awareness month, we have shared the stories of Americans with disabilities
who are making contributions to the national service family every day. Stephanie
Enyart, the disability and inclusion advisor at CNCS, leads by example. One of her
primary goals is increasing the number of service members with disabilities who
are engaged in our national service programs. Visit our blog to learn more
about her story and her current work at CNCS.
Preparing for Emergencies: In communities across the country, Senior Corps volunteers are a valuable resource for older Americans. In Ohio, the Toledo Police Department’s Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol is part of an important Senior Corps initiative to deliver more than 1,000 emergency preparedness kits to local seniors.
Senior Corps RSVP volunteer Dinah Henderson says she finds joy in helping members of her own community.
“I love people. And when they need help, I like to help them,” she said.
Launching Something New: This week, the AmeriCorps NCCC program found a new home on Tumblr. The AmeriCorps NCCC Tumblr will showcase stories about current members and alumni, project highlights from around the country, and announcements for potential new members.
