Thanks for Attending: AmeriCorps State and National Recruitment Call

Thanks for attending our AmeriCorps "Leveraging Current Members and/or Alumni for Recruitment," call on Wednesday, June 21. We appreciate your continued partnership with AmeriCorps and commitment to national service recruitment efforts. A recording of the call is now available.

We would like to thank the Go Foundation for a wonderful presentation on leveraging AmeriCorps members for recruitment. If you have questions about the Go Foundation's presentation, please email Grace Lee at glee2@greatoakscharter.org.

During our last AmeriCorps State and National monthly recruitment call, a question was raised about whether currently serving members can accept gift cards or other monetary incentives for referring prospective members to apply and/or serve.

Use of AmeriCorps grant funding for recruitment and retention incentives/performance awards are allowable to the extent they are:

reasonable, necessary, and allowable for program outcomes;
tied to the program narrative;
fair;
consistently applied; and 5) part of the organization’s written policies and procedures.

Please contact your portfolio manager with any additional questions about what is allowable.

During our next recruitment call, "Referral Programs," we will facilitate a plenary session with high level updates and hear a success story from the field highlighting how to design, execute, and measure a process for alumni and/or current members to refer friends and family to national service opportunities.
