AmeriCorps has received reports that some grantees and sponsors are receiving scam emails requesting a fee for SAM.gov registrations. SAM.gov has addressed this concern and reinforced that no one needs to pay to register in SAM.gov. Please note:
- SAM.gov does not use social media;
- SAM.gov will not contact individuals by phone to solicit, review, or make awards;
- No government staff will contact you requesting money; and
- SAM.gov is a free public website.
If you have been affected by this scam, please report any information and documentation related to this incident to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center and your local law enforcement authorities.
