AmeriCorps CEO Michael D. Smith served with US Vice President Kamala Harris and US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona at George Washington University for the campus’ annual service event that draws hundreds of students, staff and faculty. Led by GW Serves JumpStart, the administration leaders and campus volunteers created activities for children to learn numbers and recognize colors.
Smith served at the Charles Hart Middle School in Washington, DC, with US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Deputy Secretary Adrianne Todman, US Department of Housing and Urban Development and Deputy Secretary Don Graves, US Department of Commerce, serving alongside leaders at City Year DC.
Samaritan's Feet made a difference this MLK Day by giving out thousands of shoes across the country.
The Leaders Readers Network hosted an MLK service project in Texas that advocates for equitable literacy for all.
