Dear AmeriCorps Seniors grantees,
On Saturday, April 1, 2023, the hourly stipend rate will increase to $4 per hour, pending final FY 2023 appropriations, for those stipend-based programs with a July 1, 2023, start date (Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, and non-ARP Senior Demonstration programs). These programs are required submit a required amendment in November 2022 for the planned increase to be implemented on April 1.
This stipend increase will be funded one of two ways.
- Those grantee programs that have not met FY 2022 volunteer hours and have outstanding funds available (either from the stipend line or from other lines with funding excess), will use those underspent budget funds to meet this increase.
- For those grantees that have met FY 2022 volunteer hours and are not projecting an underspend, AmeriCorps Seniors may be able to offer an augmentation.
