Observed each year on the third Monday in January, Martin Luther King, Jr., Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King.

On Monday, Jan. 16, and the days surrounding, AmeriCorps invites you to:

• engage with your community and create constructive action;
• act on Dr. King’s legacy of social justice and equity; and
• recommit by volunteering to serve others.

Service has the power to bring communities together, help others stand together against hate, build bridges, and heal divides. Together, we can strengthen ties to our communities while addressing critical issues.

Sign up today to show your organization's support in honoring the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Day of Service.

MLK Day Champions commit to:

• promoting MLK Day in their marketing channels and to their networks;
• listing MLK Day volunteer opportunities in AmeriCorps Volunteer Search tool; and
• using AmeriCorps’ MLK Day Toolkit to join the national conversation.

All MLK Day Champions will receive:

• invitations to MLK Day planning webinars;
• access to AmeriCorps national marketing materials;
• opportunity to invite AmeriCorps leadership to your volunteer event; and

Publicize your organization's volunteer opportunities for the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Day of Service by adding them to AmeriCorps Volunteer Search.

1. To be discoverable in search results for MLK Day, you must use #MLK in the title of the project.
2. Create a free project listing with one of these organizations: Idealist, JustServe, or VolunteerMatch.
