Join the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge and Student Corps

Dear Colleagues:

As we move toward reopening our schools in the fall, we need all hands on deck to ensure students across the country are vaccinated before they return to campuses. Our best path out of the COVID-19 pandemic is for every American to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

AmeriCorps invites Schools of National Service, colleges, and universities across the country to join the White House and Department of Education’s COVID-19 College Vaccine ChallengeParticipating colleges commit to taking three key actions to help their campus communities get vaccinated: engage every student, faculty, and staff member; organize their college communities; and deliver vaccine access for all.

All institutions that take the pledge will be listed on the White House website and will have opportunities to learn from each other and receive toolkits, best practices, and other materials.

The Biden Administration also launched its COVID-19 Student Corps, a program within COVID-19 Community Corps specifically focused on students age 16 and older. We encourage you to share the information below with your students.

Members of Student Corps get resources to help build vaccine confidence in their communities, including:

  • Biweekly calls to learn best practices and hear from other students how they are talking to their friends, families, and other community members about getting the vaccine
  • Fact sheets on vaccine safety and hints for planning and attending community events
  • Social media content to share with their followers
  • Regular email updates with the latest vaccine news and resources to share

Learn more and register for Student Corps. Be sure to select ‘Student’ in the drop down to receive student-specific communications.

Visit vaccines.gov to find where to go, how to get there, and how you can help spread the word to others in your neighborhoods, networks, and friend groups. Need help finding a vaccine in the U.S.? Call 1-800-232-0233.
