Dear Grantees, 

In advance of our next monthly newsletter, we have two updates to share regarding living allowance extension for select volunteers and promotional items available to increase awareness of the opportunities we provide and the good we do for communities across the nation.

Temporary Living Allowance Extension

We know many communities are continuing to implement return-to-service plans and not all volunteers are able to return to service immediately.

To ensure AmeriCorps Seniors grantees are able to work with their community partners, AmeriCorps Seniors has extended the allowance to provide stipends to AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers in the Foster Grandparent Program and the Senior Companion Program who, through no fault of their own, remain unable to serve.

AmeriCorps Seniors grantees may continue to pay applicable volunteers an allowance through Sept. 30.

To receive this stipend flexibility extension all grantees must complete the
COVID-19 Service Activity Survey by Mon., March 29, at 5 p.m. ET.

TAKE THE SURVEY

This survey identifies how volunteers engage in service after March 31. It is a reporting requirement to ensure we are able to accurately convey COVID-19's impact on AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers and how they are returning to service.

AmeriCorps will require grantees to update survey information in May, July, and September to continue to gain a better understanding of the number and types of service activities, traditional or alternative, that volunteers are completing.
