COVID-19 UPDATE: TELEWORK PLANS

Out of an abundance of caution, effective Monday, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is moving all staff – including those who do not have telework agreements in place -- to full-time telework through March 31, 2020

This includes all CNCS headquarters staff, Phase One regional offices, and the FFMC as well as staff already on full-time telework status. Specific guidance will be provided separately to ORO Phase Two offices and AmeriCorps NCCC campuses. Roles exempt from the telework requirement will be communicated to staff by their supervisors.

To prepare, please take home everything you need to begin teleworking on Monday. CNCS headquarters will be open on Monday for staff who need to come in to pick up essential items, such as laptops, power cords, or PIV cards. Headquarters staff should work with their supervisors if they need to pick up supplies after Monday. Field office staff should make arrangements with their supervisors to obtain supplies

This is a constantly evolving situation. For that reason, all employees must be prepared to report back to their duty station within 24 hours.

During this time, you will still be able to access assistance using the OIT help desk. OIT will ship new equipment. All phone upgrades are still being performed and OIT staff will reach out to remaining users to obtain home addresses. Setup will be completed remotely for remaining users.

We know you are concerned about yourselves, family members, friends, and colleagues. This unique situation is posing challenges for many of us and we understand telework may present challenges for those with caregiving responsibilities.

Therefore, you will be able to use leave and advanced leave as necessary. As always, you can revise your work schedules according to our MaxiFlex policy. Many questions regarding leave and flexibility are addressed in our staff FAQs on SharePoint. Please work with your direct supervisor to address your needs. If you have additional questions, please contact Human Capital.

Thousands of people across the country are depending on us to still get our work done. And while it won’t be the same, we do expect normal business to occur to the extent possible.  We very much appreciate all the adjustments that you will make to continue to carry out your work.

As a reminder, FAQs addressing the potential impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on our programs are available online at https://nationalservice.gov/coronavirus.

Things will continue to evolve and change in the coming weeks. As additional guidance is provided or decisions are made, we will share that information with you as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your work, patience, flexibility, and resilience during this challenging time.
