Dear Grantees,
As the agency continues its
annual improper payments testing and grant monitoring, the Office of the Chief
Risk Officer has received some questions about National Service Criminal
History Check (NSCHC) eligibility requirements.
As such, we are sending you this
quick reminder and clarification. While the NSCHC eligibility
requirements have not changed, the NSCHC
eligibility requirements only establish baseline requirements.
Grantees may establish additional
screening procedures to meet the needs of their programs. These
procedures can include components and criteria that go beyond the NSCHC
baseline requirements and are tailored to meet the needs of the program,
organization, and beneficiary population. Please
refer to the CNCS NSCHC Enforcement Guide for more details regarding ineligibility.
