Funding Opportunities: Senior Corps Replacement Grant Competitions

letterhead

Good afternoon,

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is pleased to share some state-specific competitive grant funding opportunities. Our 2018 Senior Corps Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and Senior Companion Program (SCP) Replacement Sponsor Competitions are currently underway in the following states: Georgia, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Utah.

Senior Corps is a CNCS program that engages adults age 55 and older in community service.  Through the Foster Grandparent Program, Senior Corps volunteers serve in head start programs, pre-K programs, and K-12 schools to tutor and mentor underserved youth. Through the Senior Companion Program, Senior Corps volunteers help homebound or disabled seniors remain healthy and independent in their homes by providing transportation assistance, healthy meal deliveries, and friendship.

We hope you will share these funding opportunities with organizations in your community that may be interested in applying. If you have any questions about these grant competitions, please reach out to GovernmentRelations@cns.gov or 202-606-6707.

Senior Corps Funding Opportunities:

The purpose of the FGP and SCP replacement competitions is to provide grant funding to eligible organizations and entities to manage Senior Corps programming in specific geographic service areas where a prior sponsor is no longer able to continue to operate.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, local governments, states, institutions of higher education, and Indian tribes.
