Advice to eGrants Users Regarding Deleting, Withdrawing or Rejecting Grant Applications:

While the eGrants National Service Help Line can assist you when creating or submitting grant applications to CNCS, the National Service Help Line is not authorized to delete, withdraw or reject grant applications for you.

Instead, you can almost always perform the deletion action on your own, or your CNCS program officer can perform a withdrawal or rejection action for you.  Applications can always be deleted by the author prior to submission to CNCS.  If you are the original author of an eGrants grant application that is not going to be transmitted to CNCS, you should always attempt to delete it yourself.  If you cannot find the deletion action, please contact your CNCS program officer for advice.

To comply with records retention laws, once an application reaches CNCS that application can never be deleted.  The appropriate action for applications that have reached CNCS but are no longer needed is to withdraw or reject the application.  Rejection and withdrawal actions can be performed by a CNCS program officer.

We appreciate your efforts to help us with grant application record keeping whether the applications are funded or not.  If you have questions regarding handling an application for your grants, please contact your CNCS program officer for assistance.  Questions on this bulletin service and suggestions for future bulletin topics can be sent to Douglas Godesky at dgodesky@cns.gov.
