Alert - Fraudulent "CFDA" Contacts

Having trouble viewing this email? View it as a Web page.

Dear Colleagues,

We have learned that so-called Community for Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) agents” are contacting our grantees and requesting financial information. This is a fraudulent operation.

These “CFDA agents” claim that, in order for  recipients to drawdown federal grant money, they must first send the CFDA agent personal information or money.

If you hear of anyone being contacted this way, please advise him or her to pass all information to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and local law enforcement authorities. This can also be reported to the GSA Inspector General’s fraud line (1-800-424-5210), via e-mail fraudnet@gsaig.gov, or using the Inspector General web form.

If you would like to suggest a topic to be addressed in a future grants and financial management bulletin, please also send your suggestions to Brad Lewis, at blewis@cns.gov
