The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is launching a new webinar series, Promoting Children’s Preventive Dental Visits, to support state Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs in improving the delivery of preventive oral health services and ongoing dental care for children. The series will feature presentations from CMS, state Medicaid and CHIP programs, and subject matter experts, who will share strategies, promising practices, and actionable insights to help states strengthen utilization of children’s preventive dental care.
CMS invites interested staff from state Medicaid and CHIP programs to attend the webinar series. States are also encouraged to share the webinar registration details below with their dental providers, Medicaid and CHIP managed care plans, pediatric providers, public health agencies, and other QI partners. To build on the topics discussed in the webinar series, CMS will host an action-oriented affinity group in late 2025. This group will convene Medicaid and CHIP-led state quality improvement (QI) teams interested in implementing QI projects that promote children’s preventive dental visits. Participating states will collaborate with CMS, peer states, and subject matter experts to explore key strategies and promising models of care. The final webinar in the series will provide an overview of the upcoming affinity group opportunity and expression of interest process.
